The theme of Voci dei Boschi Film Festival 2024 is darkness.
The darkness and silence of the forest in opposition to the brightness imposed on our cities and the light pollution to which, absentmindedly, we become accustomed.
The darkness of whispers and secrets in the fights for the rights of the land, of those who live and work on it. Darkness as the beauty of darkness. The philosophical darkness of the cave. The darkness of the womb from which life is born. The darkness of the nights of bonfires and traditional agricultural festivals.
“The energy of light, the comfort of shadow and the magic of darkness.” The voices of the woods speak peasant languages from all over the world.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Voci Dei Boschi Film Festival is an International Film Festival that aims at the promotion of agriculture and sustainability.
“Voci dei Boschi” (Voices of the Woods), means to listen and showcase realities that rely on agriculture and farming; voices that talk about our roots, that represent us and support us, our history, culture and traditions.
LOCATION
Costa Vescovato rises among beautiful hills.
It is an Italian district located between two torrents - the Ossona and the Cornigliasca.
It’s an ancient land that, like the valleys that surround it, makes you feel part of another time whose beat is the work of those who live and farm it.

RULES & GUIDELINES:
Organization and Jury

All movies will be selected by Voci dei Boschi organization board.

Panel jury will be made up by people from the word of Italian and international culture, film makers and farmers.

Final decisions from the Voci dei Boschi board and from the panel Jury will not be questionable.

Organization board will define how many movies will be selected for each section.

Organization board will have the final decision on disputable topics.
Submission:
All movies must be submitted exclusively through FilmFreeway by 5/20/2024.
Requirements:

Short films/ Feature film/Documentary
-
Italian and international projects
-
Project should deal only of nature, agriculture and environment.

Movies with other than Italian language will require subtitle. In this case SRT file format is mandatory.

If and when a movie will be selected, the owners of the project must send to the film festival board:
- Logline
- Outline (max 500 characters including blank)
- three pictures of the movie (max 5 MB)
- a direct link to download the movie

If selected, the project creator will authorize the Film Festival board to play the movie and to share the same during the Festival time frame.

Jérémy Depuydt
Originaria di Genova, laureata all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, corso Nuove Tecnologie per l’Arte, si specializza alla Scuola Civica di Cinema di Milano, indirizzo documentario.
Lavora come videomaker e dirige alcuni documentari tra i quali “All’ombra del Porto” (Italia-Senegal) con protagonisti gli ambulanti del porto di Genova e le loro famiglie a Dakar. Successivamente dirige videoclip per artisti del panorama musicale italiano tra i quali Willie Peyote, Ex-Otago, Dutch Nazari.
Cantante del gruppo Era Serenase, dei quali gira lei stessa i videoclip, attualmente si occupa della comunicazione della cooperativa Valli Unite.
Sensibile alle problematiche politiche, sociali e ambientali, alla ricerca di soluzioni per il futuro dell'umanità.
Dopo aver studiato l'illustrazione e l'animazione, dirige il suo primo cortometraggio nel 2004, “Il pleut bergère” (Les Films du Nord, Arnaud Demuynck).Da lì in poi, lavora come animatore 2D/3D in progetti televisivi . Contemporaneamente sviluppa le sue capacità di regista realizzando video istituzionali e commerciali animati come freelance e illustrazioni.Successivamente insegna animazione all'Esa-St-Luc (Bruxelles).Con questo background, decide di tornare alla regia realizzando il pluripremiato corto d'animazione “Pina” in collaborazione con Giuseppe Accardo (Punchline Cinema, Next Days Films).Jérémy sta ora lavorando sul suo prossimo corto d'animazione intitolato “De la nature des choses”.

Leonardo Lovati
Lavora con video, animazione, tecniche audiovisive analogiche e digitali, installazioni, disegno, pittura e performance dal vivo, seguendo un percorso di continua sperimentazione tecnica e linguistica. La sua ricerca si colloca al confine tra arti visive e cinema. I suoi film e installazioni sono stati presentati a livello internazionale in Sudafrica, Svizzera, Grecia, Russia, Lituania, Cina, Bielorussia, Belgio, Turchia e in diverse città italiane. Ha vinto il Video Art Awards 2022, premio tra Italia e Sudafrica, Fondazione Luigi di Sarro Roma, e il premio per il miglior film d'artista al Next Generation Film Festival di Bari (IT) 2022. Attualmente insegna all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera a Milano e all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Bergamo.
Studente di filosofia alla Statale di Milano, operaio agricolo, scrittore di articoli e del libro "Ultima. Resistenza nonviolenta o estinzione".
